Pudlo CWP Keeps Lambeth Walk Watertight
30/09/2003

Pudlo CWP, the high performance, waterproofing admixture, is keeping yet another famous location watertight, following its specification in the Lambeth River Walk subway project.

Scientifically developed to reduce permeability, absorption, efflorescence and to provide long term concrete durability, the BBA approved Pudlo CWP, the high performance, waterproofing admixture from the David Ball Groupthe, is the leading odourless, single pack powder system in the market. The subway beneath Vauxhall Bridge was a feat of engineering for contractors McNicholas Construction and, as such, required a high performance waterproofing solution in order to meet aggressive conditions above the tideway. Thanks to its exceptional ease of use and the on-site presence of experts from the David Ball Group, Pudlo CWP was the preferred choice for the project.

The effectiveness of the water bar was further ensured by the use of hDB Waterstop - a construction joint waterproofing strip with a life expectancy of over 120 years - and Intaflex PU 25, a waterproof mastic joint sealant.

David Ball comments: "This project was actually quite complex and we were asked to assist the engineers with the waterproofing specifications at quite an early stage in the planning process - a dialogue that influenced both the design of the precast concrete mix for the subway's box culvert sections, and the actual installation of the sections on site."
