David Ball Group PLC strengthens board with appointment of Hugh Purser as non-executive director

Cambridge-based materials specialist, David Ball Group plc, has announced the appointment of Mr Hugh Purser as non-executive director.
Mr Purser has almost 20 years experience in the investment industry primarily with Rothschild Asset management. He has broad experience in the financing, licensing and commercialisation of technology in the private, public and academic sectors where he has held VP, director and consultant roles. An Asia Pacific specialist, he has spent 17 years based in Singapore, Japan and India.
Mr Purser was director of business development at Singapore's Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology with responsibility for the licensing and commercialisation of research activities. He has also worked as a full-time consultant in the Executive Director's Office of Singapore's National Science & Technology Board (now A*Star) with a focus on the support and development of entrepreneur-driven technology start-ups. At the same time, he was a director of a specialist technology start-up venture capital fund, the Technology Fund.
He was formerly a director of Algometrics (Cayman) Limited, a hedge fund, and senior vice president of Algometrics Limited, the London-based management company, regulated by the FSA.
Since 2009, Mr Purser has been the UK and European representative of Singapore-based digital media and architectural lighting specialists, Dimeled Pte Ltd. He is an Advisory Board member of the Asia Pacific Technology Network.
